Carnatic Circle

Carnatic-Circle is a Midlands-based UK academy dedicated to the arts and to sharing Indian culture through music. Its teaching draws on traditional Carnatic practices, guiding learners from foundational Swaravalis through Alankarams, Gitam, Varnams and Keerthanai. Classes include Carnatic vocal music and Tabla for children and adults, with Tabla instruction covering solo and accompaniment playing as well as theory. The academy also offers lessons and resources in music theory, ragas, taals, devotional songs and prayers.

Beyond individual tuition, Carnatic-Circle provides opportunities to take part in devotional choral singing and Bhajanai, following the traditional Pracheena Sampradaya style. Its musical activities include story-telling with music and ensemble performances. The academy’s groups have performed for audiences in auditoriums and halls across the Midlands, while its cultural events include Sita Rama Kalyanam and Radha Madhava Kalyanam celebrations held in the UK and Europe. Through classes, group singing and events, Carnatic-Circle offers a welcoming way to explore Indian musical traditions and devotional culture.
