About Carnegie-Stout PL
Carnegie-Stout Public Library has been serving the Dubuque community since 1902. With a collection of over 240,000 items, including print, audio/video materials, and online resources such as ebooks, digital magazines, streaming movies, and research databases, the library provides a wide range of materials to its patrons. In addition to traditional items, the library offers non-traditional items like hot spots, GoPro cameras, baking pans, board games, and ukuleles for check out.
The library also hosts after-hours events like Art @ your library® showcasing local artists and Music @ your library® featuring original music by local and regional musicians. The Library Foundation supports and enriches the library through private fundraising, while the Friends of the Carnegie-Stout Public Library is an independent organization established in 1978 to promote the growth and welfare of the library. The Friends host book sales events and accept book donations that meet specific guidelines.
