About Centre CARO
Centre CARO is an association that offers a wide range of services in mediation and arbitration, available in French, English, and Spanish. It is part of the operational phase of the OHADAC project, which aims to achieve legal integration in the Caribbean. The services provided by Centre CARO not only resolve disputes but also anticipate them, ensuring legal security and access to justice.
With affordable services and personalized support, Centre CARO serves as a catalyst for the key stakeholders in the region and contributes to its sustainable development. More than just a dispute resolution center, Centre CARO is an accelerator of projects and change across 33 Caribbean countries and territories. The innovative nature of this project, along with the support of prominent Caribbean individuals and institutions, has secured funding from the European Development Fund through the Interreg V Caribbean program.
Centre CARO offers various services, including facilitation to strengthen business relationships, mediation to resolve disputes amicably, arbitration for enforceable decisions in 156 countries, and expertise with the appointment of neutral third-party experts. Leading the Centre CARO is Sir Dennis BYRON, former President of the Caribbean Court of Justice and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. Alongside him are Jacques DARCHE, an experienced lawyer specialized in dispute resolution, Keats COMPTON, a telecommunications engineer with expertise in government relations, and Marie-Camille PITTON, a lawyer with years of experience in international arbitration.
Centre CARO is co-financed by the INTERREG Caribbean program, and they offer a newsletter and contact information for those in need of advice or assistance. Visit Centre CARO's office in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, or reach out to them via email or phone
