About Carpe Science
Carpe Science is a brand based in the northern region of Chile, where the issue of water scarcity presents a paradox that leads to opposing discourses. Despite alarming statements about water scarcity and the impending drying up of water sources, Carpe Science challenges these notions. As a hydrogeologist, the founder of Carpe Science observed that there is still a significant amount of water in the region.
However, the problem lies in the unequal access to this water, rather than its availability. The region relies on underground water sources, particularly the Pampa del Tamarugal. Despite the arid climate, the water accumulates in endorheic basins due to geological processes and erosion.
The brand highlights the physical characteristics of the territory and emphasizes the importance of access to water for all living beings. Carpe Science aims to address these issues and provide research, services, and transfer of knowledge related to water management in the region
