Carrickfergus Rugby Football Club (Carrickfergus RFC) is a community rugby club based at Tom Simms Memorial Park, Woodlawn Grounds, in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. Established most likely in 1865, it is one of Ireland’s oldest clubs and has played rugby each season since 1904, apart from during the war years. Its ethos, summed up as “more than rugby,” brings together players, supporters and local businesses.
The club fields men’s, women’s, academy, youth and mini teams, and offers player and social memberships through the Clubforce platform. New players can complete IRFU registration, while members and supporters can access official club kit and leisurewear through its Kukri-linked shop. The club also provides information about player injury insurance and hosts events at its grounds and clubhouse.
Carrickfergus RFC is home to the Carrick Sevens, a tournament running since 1973 and described by the club as Ulster’s biggest. Held over two days each May, it features men’s, women’s and under-18 competitions.
