Jardim Escola Carrocel is an early childhood education centre in Benfica, Lisbon, serving children aged three to five. Since opening in March 1971, it has maintained a family-oriented environment while supporting children’s learning, play and social development. Its educational approach promotes values including solidarity, honesty, loyalty, kindness and altruism, with staff attentive to children’s behaviour and interactions.

The school offers a spacious setting with a patio, in a calm, secure area surrounded by green spaces that encourage supervised contact with nature. Its curriculum is updated annually and complemented by stimulating activities, including gymnastics, music, dramatic expression and contemporary ballet. The school also holds an annual presentation for families in collaboration with Centro de Estudos O Urso, its associated study centre.

A team of early childhood educators, teaching assistants and specialist instructors supports the children, alongside a cook. Carrocel’s weekday opening hours are 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with extended-care options available into the evening. The school is located on Estrada de Benfica in Lisbon.
