The Mission of Carry Her Load is to provide moving services to survivors fleeing abusive homes and then again when it is time to begin the next, safer chapter of life as they transition out of a shelter. Men and women who have all had a hand in protecting our country and communities volunteer with Carry Her Load to move and protect treasured belongings in an effort to restore dignity to survivors who have made the difficult decision to move out of unsafe homes. Carry Her Load also recognizes that in many situations, a female survivor fleeing an unsafe home has very little time to escape with much more than the clothes on her back. As part of its Mission to restore dignity to survivors, Carry Her Load created The Daughter Project to ensure that survivors not go without cosmetics, skin and hair care products, and intimates that women have come to rely on for self-confidence. The Daughter Project wants to arm every survivor with the confidence that they need to focus on building a life free from abuse. Carry Her Load relies on a pool of volunteers made up of military veterans, off-duty law enforcement, and firefighters. Carry Her Load will provide moving services to survivors in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. All services will be discreetly provided so as to maintain the dignity of clients, as well as protect their identity. Carry Her Load will work closely with area shelters to identify survivors in need of moving services. Additionally, The Daughter Project works closely with these same shelters to offer cosmetics, skin and hair care products, and intimates to shelter residents.

Carry Her Load supports survivors of domestic and sexual abuse as they leave unsafe homes and begin safer chapters of life. Based in Irving, Texas, the organization provides moving services at two important points: when survivors flee abusive homes and when they transition from shelters into new living situations. Volunteers help move and protect treasured belongings, offering practical assistance intended to restore dignity during a difficult transition.
The organization also runs programs that address survivorsβ everyday needs. The Daughter Project provides cosmetics, skin and hair care products, and intimate apparel to help women feel more confident as they focus on building lives free from abuse. Its Amazon Wish List enables supporters to purchase essential items for the program. Sons for Mothers supplies home goods to help survivors turn empty spaces into comfortable, safe places and rebuild stability.
Through these services and opportunities to help, Carry Her Load aims to make fresh starts more attainable.
