Carsten Fun Jensen

Carsten Fun Jensen is a Danish sculptor and member of Verket, a shared artistic community where five independent artists work in an atmosphere of mutual respect and openness. Trained as a toolmaker and also a former firefighter, Jensen brings strong craftsmanship and precision to expressive, tactile forms. His work spans four main areas: bronze sculptures, including both abstract pieces and works with political themes; sculptures in marble and granite; and ceramic works finished with copper or silver through electrolysis.

His art often draws on organic shapes and nature, while some pieces offer understated commentary on issues such as apartheid, industrial farming, terrorism, climate change and recycling. Rather than prescribing a single interpretation, the sculptures invite viewers to explore their forms and meanings. Jensen’s influences include Jean Arp, Henry Moore, Erik Thommesen and Reinhoud.
