Carter

Carter James Racing is the professional motorsports brand of driver and engineer Carter James, based in Seattle, Washington. With more than 24 years of experience spanning karting, cars, and professional sim racing, James offers driving, race engineering, and coaching services to drivers and teams. His driving support combines pace and consistency with engineering knowledge, car development, and assistance in developing sponsorship presentations and attracting funding.

Engineering services are available both trackside and at the shop. They include data analysis using MoTeC, AiM, and Cosworth tools; setup and race engineering; driver performance support; strategy; and car development involving CAD, CFD, fabrication, and programming. James also works with Matlab, Python, Solidworks, NX, ChassisSim, and Optimum Suite.

Coaching is available for drivers and teams seeking to improve performance, from local racing to high-level competition. Options include one-on-one simulator or video-and-data coaching, single-event support, and season-long development. The coaching approach emphasizes understanding why driving or setup changes work, with tools such as simulation, data analysis, and physical training.
