About Caru
Caru, a brand developed by the Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF) and the All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC) in partnership with the HSE, focuses on supporting care and compassion at end-of-life in nursing homes. This continuous learning program is designed to enhance the delivery of compassionate, person-centered, palliative, end-of-life, and bereavement care to residents and their families in nursing homes across Ireland. The free quality improvement program is open to all nursing home staff, aiming to elevate the standard of care provided in these facilities.
Through Caru, nursing home staff can access valuable resources, training, networks, and webinars to enrich their knowledge and skills in delivering exceptional end-of-life care. By participating in Caru, individuals can contribute to ensuring residents receive the highest quality of care during their most vulnerable moments, fostering a culture of compassion and dignity in nursing home settings
