CarverLink is a publicly owned middle mile broadband fiber optics network serving Carver County, Minnesota, established in 2013. This innovative initiative is designed to enhance connectivity throughout the region, particularly for underserved and unserved rural areas. With its origins rooted in the Carver County Open Fiber Initiative, CarverLink has undergone significant expansions, including a major project funded by the American Rescue Plan Act to build over 360 miles of additional fiber routes.

As of December 2023, the network has expanded to include a total of more than 1,200 miles of fiber, connecting over 280 institutions, including public schools, libraries, and local government facilities. While CarverLink does not provide direct internet services to residents or businesses, it partners with service providers like Metronet and Arvig to offer last-mile internet access. Through its ongoing efforts, CarverLink aims to ensure universal fiber coverage across Carver County, fostering collaboration and community development in the digital age
