Casa de Algar is a family-run wine estate with more than a century of history and generations of winemaking tradition. Located about 40 kilometres from Porto, on the southern bank of the Douro River in the Paiva sub-region, the quinta brings together wine, nature and rural hospitality.

The estate produces wines under the established Pata da Burra label and its newer Casa de Algar brand. Its wines showcase the freshness and distinctive character of grape varieties typical of the Vinho Verde region, and are available through the online shop.

Visitors can book guided vineyard and winery tours, wine tastings and other experiences centred on the estate’s heritage, landscape and local character. Tastings may be paired with food, including locally produced items. For guests seeking a longer stay, Casa de Algar offers rural accommodation, with access to walking trails, natural surroundings and scenic picnic spots. The estate welcomes reservations for visits and activities from Monday to Saturday, subject to availability and advance booking.
