Casa do Pessoal dos Hospitais da Universidade de Coimbra (CdP) is a nonprofit association founded in 1952 to support hospital employees and their families through social assistance, professional development, cultural activities, recreation and other benefits. Guided by principles of mutual support and solidarity, it provides opportunities that contribute to members’ professional and personal wellbeing.

Its facilities include a headquarters building with administrative offices, meeting and leisure rooms, a restaurant and a gym, which are open to the hospital community and visitors. The association also offers sporting, cultural and recreational activities. Its sports programme has included football, futsal and tennis, with a tennis school operated through an external partnership. A picnic area and children’s playground support leisure activities.

A central service is O Caracol, the association’s crèche and kindergarten, established in 2003. Its purpose-built facilities accommodate about 200 children aged four months to five years, with classrooms, dining and sleeping areas, a gym, activity space and outdoor patios.
