Casa do Salgueiral is a rural accommodation in Santa Marta de Penaguião, in the heart of Portugal’s Douro World Heritage region. Set among terraced vineyards, the property offers three guest rooms and four independent, fully equipped apartments, welcoming visitors for holidays, weekend breaks, work meetings and professional retreats. The main building retains much of its presumed eighteenth-century character following a restoration completed in 2020, and is furnished largely with antique pieces from the house. Guests staying in its rooms can use a shared lounge with a fireplace, a dining room and an entrance balcony. The grounds include a small garden, a chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Piedade, a swimming pool overlooking the vineyards, and former granite wine presses now used as a games and television room. The estate covers seven hectares of vines, and guests may observe agricultural work. Located six kilometres from Régua and 14 kilometres from Vila Real, Casa do Salgueiral provides a peaceful base for exploring the Douro.
