About – Casa dos Avós

P. S. – Casa dos Avós is a social solidarity association based in Ponte de Sor, Portugal, established on 24 August 2013.
Its main activity is providing residential social support for older people, with capacity for 72 residents. The institution has 57 cooperation agreements, including six emergency beds allocated through referrals from Social Security services. Its facilities include individual, double and shared rooms, service areas and communal spaces.
Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team with expertise in nursing, physiotherapy and physical rehabilitation, geriatrics, sociocultural activities, cooking and administration, supported by volunteers. Daily nursing care is available, while physiotherapy is provided on weekdays by a physiotherapist and two assistant technicians. The association also offers activities that encourage residents’ participation, social connection and sense of belonging, while promoting autonomy and independence.
