About Casa Josefina
Casa Josefina is a compassionate organization dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for children in need in Palpanccay, Peru. Founded by Keith and Ruth Powilson in 2008 after witnessing the struggles local families faced with child abandonment, Casa Josefina has evolved into a specialized transitory home for babies aged zero to five. The organization focuses on meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of its residents, offering personalized care that includes individual belongings for each child, developmental support, and a commitment to finding them permanent family placements through reunification, foster care, or adoption.
Under the leadership of Executive Director Kristen Henson, the dedicated Casa Josefina team consists of licensed social workers, psychologists, and legal professionals who collaborate to support the children in their care. With an emphasis on community involvement, Casa Josefina thrives through the generosity of donors and volunteers who share their vision of love in action, ensuring a secure, loving, and stable environment where every child can feel valued and prepare for a brighter future.
