Casey Mahoney

Casey Mahoney is a Southern California social worker, jazz guitarist, musician, athlete, author, and drug prevention speaker. His work brings together mental health support, youth education, and live performance. He speaks at schools and youth centers, where his “Sober Superpowers” presentation addresses drug prevention for at-risk teens. His current mental health focus also includes teen suicide prevention and rising depression and anxiety following the pandemic.

Mahoney’s experience includes substance abuse prevention at Queens Community House, residential support work, counseling at the American Cancer Society’s Camp Adventure, and five years in addiction recovery. He has worked in prevention and mental health roles since 1998. As a musician, he has toured internationally and performed for more than a million people. His career includes Broadway’s RENT and tours with Dry Kills Logic and 9ELECTRIC, alongside artists including Megadeth, Disturbed, Static-X, and Drowning Pool. He also performs jazz, including concerts with other local musicians. Through school presentations, community events, and music performances, Mahoney connects with audiences on prevention, well-being, and the arts.
