About ChâteauDeCastelnaud
ChâteauDeCastelnaud is a medieval fortress located in the heart of the stunning Périgord Noir region, just 9km from Sarlat in France. Built on a rocky spur, this XII century castle offers breathtaking views of the Dordogne Valley. It is a perfect example of medieval fortification and now houses an impressive collection of weapons and armor.
On the bastion, you can witness the most powerful siege machines of the Middle Ages in attack positions. The castle is open for visits every day throughout the year, and guided tours and animations are available without reservation (except for the evening show in July-August). Currently, there are various themed visits, including demonstrations of trebuchet shooting, a medieval spectacle, and forge demonstrations.
