The effort began with toy collections for friends at The Big Heart Orphanage in Reynosa, then grew to include children throughout the valley, with support from the local fishing community. Alongside this outreach, the founders began making fishing lures to raise extra money for their ministry. As requests for the lures increased, they decided to establish Casting by Faith Fishing and now make hundreds of lures, with the goal of helping anglers get another bite while sharing their message.
