Casting for Recovery ACT is an Australian organisation supporting women recovering from breast cancer through fly-fishing retreats in the ACT region. Its mission is to enhance participants’ quality of life by bringing them together in a supportive setting where they can learn a new sport, connect with nature and build relationships with other women who have faced breast cancer.
The organisation’s weekend retreats are open to women of all ages and at every stage of recovery, and participation is free. Activities provide opportunities to gain inspiration, discover renewed energy and experience connection and healing. Participants receive support and tuition as they learn fly fishing, while sharing time with others who understand their experiences.
Casting for Recovery ACT also invites the community to help its work through sponsorship and donations, and shares information about its retreat program, registration and frequently asked questions. The organisation recognises sponsors, friends and champions who contribute to its efforts.
