Castle Mountaineering

Castle Mountaineering Club, established in 1967 and based in Sheffield, is an affiliated member of the British Mountaineering Council (BMC), engaging outdoor enthusiasts in a variety of activities, including rock climbing, mountaineering, indoor climbing, bouldering, hiking, and cycling. Renowned for its friendly and supportive environment, the club offers a wealth of experience and camaraderie among its members. The clubroom, conveniently located behind the Rising Sun on Abbey Lane, serves as a gathering place for social events, training sessions, and presentations, fostering a vibrant community spirit.

Members can take advantage of numerous organized outings throughout the year, including monthly meets and evening climbing sessions from April to October. Joining the club not only allows access to extensive outdoor resources but also includes benefits such as liability insurance, discounts at over 700 outdoor retailers, and opportunities for skill development through informal training.
