Castlewood Preschool

Castlewood Community Preschool & Kindergarten is a parent-cooperative early education school in Franktown, Colorado, serving families in Parker, Castle Rock, Elizabeth, and surrounding Douglas County communities. Its play-based approach helps children ages 3–6 develop curiosity, creativity, confidence, and early academic, social, and emotional skills through exploration and caring relationships.

The school offers a mixed-age preschool program for ages 3–5 and a kindergarten program for ages 5–6, with deeper academic exploration, small-group instruction, and preparation for first grade. Its research-based curriculum emphasizes inquiry, discovery, and hands-on learning, allowing children to explore at their own pace. Family participation is central to the cooperative model, which the school describes as the only parent-cooperative preschool in Douglas County.

Located on a five-acre campus, Castlewood provides natural playgrounds, trails, outdoor classrooms, and open space for learning and play. The school also offers high-quality preschool the year before kindergarten through Colorado’s Universal Pre-K program. Families can explore program information, admissions and tuition details, and schedule a campus tour.
