Catalina is an iconic Sydney fine dining establishment that has been captivating diners since its establishment in 1994. Founded by the late Michael McMahon and his wife Judy, Catalina is a true family business with their children James and Kate now at the helm. The McMahon family's passion for excellence in the restaurant industry is evident in the incredible dining experiences they offer.

The journey of Catalina began with Michael and Judy's early years at the legendary Bulletin Place and Berowra Waters Inn, where they honed their skills under the tutelage of renowned names in the industry. They later went on to open successful restaurants such as Perry's and Barrenjoey House. In 1994, they transformed a tired old space into the exquisite harbourside restaurant that Catalina is today.

With James overseeing the restaurant and dining room, and Kate infusing fresh and exciting ideas into the business, the next generation of McMahons is committed to upholding the legacy of Catalina. James brings a wealth of fine dining and service experience to the table, while Kate's famous annual New Year's Day party has become a must-attend event in Sydney. For the past 28 years, Catalina has been a Sydney icon, and under the continued guidance of Judy, James, and Kate, it continues to offer an exceptional dining experience that keeps Michael's vision alive.
