Catholic Heritage

Catholic Heritage is a comprehensive project launched in 2008, aimed at creating a unified access point for the archival catalogues of the Catholic Church. Born out of a collaboration between the keeper of the Catholic Archives and the archivist at the Royal English College in Valladolid, this initiative's core mission is to provide affordable, industry-standard software solutions for small Catholic repositories and institutions, significantly broadening their reach and impact.

The project gained momentum with the participation of five pioneering repositories, which adopted the CALM system to standardize database management and promote their collections through the CALMView portal. Today, Catholic Heritage not only preserves unique collections but also makes them accessible to academics and researchers globally, enhancing the fields of Catholic history, social history, economic history, and cultural studies.

With institutional backing from various notable archives, including the Scottish Catholic Archives and the Diocese of Westminster, Catholic Heritage serves as a valuable resource for those seeking to explore the multifaceted history and culture of the Catholic Church.
