Cat Smart Coalition

Cat Smart Coalition is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2015 by people with experience in animal rescue. Its mission is to educate the community about humane population control and care for community cats, with a focus on Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) as a way to reduce overpopulation and prevent suffering. The organization shares information and practical support on TNR, basic cat care, preventing unwanted litters, and finding low-cost or free veterinary services.

Cat Smart Coalition also helps fund spay and neuter procedures for community cats. Since its founding, it has partially or fully funded procedures for 8,168 cats, with annual totals reported from 2016 through 2024. The group says that 98% of donations go toward cat care, while approximately 2% supports equipment and medical supplies. Donations are tax deductible.

Community members can support the organization by donating, volunteering and learning TNR, sharing educational information, building cat shelters, contributing items for sale or raffles, and sponsoring fundraisers.
