Cattows Farm is a well-established brand with a rich history dating back to 1899. The Ludlam family has been farming in the village of Heather for generations, beginning with Alfred Ludlam and his children Ada and Allen. Over the years, Cattows Farm has expanded its acreage from 12 to an impressive 310 acres.

Initially a dairy farm, Cattows Farm transitioned to focusing on beef cattle in 1981. In 1986, they ventured into farm diversification by planting strawberries, and thus began the popular Heather Pick Your Own. Raspberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, and gooseberries were added shortly after, and Cattows Farm became a go-to destination for fresh, locally-grown fruits.

In addition to their fruitful fields, Cattows Farm boasts 100 acres of woodland, part of The National Forest, that is open to the public. Their commitment to sustainability is evident with their 80 acres of grassland and wind turbine, making them highly efficient with carbon emissions. To cater to their growing audience, Cattows Farm opened The Cattows Farm Shop & Tea Room in 2005.

This charming establishment offers a wide selection of fruits, including asparagus and an unrivaled pumpkin picking season, known to be one of the largest in the UK! The Tea Room is also renowned for its delicious array of cakes.
