Cauley Square

Cauley Square, located in Miami, Florida, is a charming small historic village with a rich history dating back to the Flager Railroad era. As one of the oldest towns in Miami, Cauley Square is a testament to the region's agricultural roots and the impact of the railroad. William Cauley, a pioneering farmer, capitalized on the convenience of having a railroad siding close to his property and built a two-story warehouse and office in the unique flat iron style blended with Spanish architecture, which stands as the main building of Cauley Square today.

Over the years, this historic village grew and became a lively community with wooden houses, a saloon, and various structures. Despite weather-related setbacks and economic challenges, Cauley Square has endured and was eventually restored to its former glory by Mary Anne Ballard, who saw its potential as a cultural and artistic hub. She transformed the village into a picturesque enclave of charming shops and dining establishments, including the famous Tea Room Restaurant and the Village Chalet Restaurant.

Cauley Square's unique and beautifully restored structures, including a small chapel, offer visitors a glimpse into the past while providing a delightful atmosphere for strolling, shopping, and dining. With its landscaped grounds, fountains, and wheelchair-accessible walkways, Cauley Square continues to thrive as a hidden gem in South Florida.
