About CAVE OKINAWA
CAVE OKINAWA is a natural cave attraction in Ishikawa, Uruma City, on the central coast of Okinawa Island. Set inside a limestone cave formed over thousands of years, it offers visitors a chance to experience striking natural formations, gentle streams and atmospheric lighting. Illuminated areas include blue and multicolored displays, while the cave’s exploratory route brings a sense of adventure for families, friends and visitors of different ages.
The site also shares stories connected to the cave’s history, including a Ryukyu Kingdom legend and an account of around 300 residents who took shelter there during wartime and survived. At the cave’s exit, FOREST CAFE provides a relaxing setting surrounded by Okinawa’s banyan trees, with drinks, food and desserts, particularly those made with Okinawan ingredients. Visitors can also buy locally produced souvenirs.
CAVE OKINAWA welcomes school trips, tour groups and other parties, with group plans available. The attraction is open year-round from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with last admission at 5:00 p.m.
