CA Water Info

CAWater-Info is a regional knowledge portal focused on water resources and ecology in Central Asia. Established in 2004, it brings together information, data, publications, and practical resources for people working on water and related development issues. Since 2024, the portal has developed around the Nexus concept, highlighting the connections between water, energy, food, and ecosystems, alongside climate and cross-sectoral concerns.

Its resources include a knowledge base, thematic collections, river-basin information, a publication library, and the annual “Water in Central Asia and the World” yearbook. Topics range from water use, agriculture, irrigation, land degradation, and climate change to water governance, law, policy, economics, education, gender, and sustainability. Dedicated collections cover the Aral Sea basin, integrated water resources management, water quality, and water-related legal frameworks. The portal also provides regional analysis, information on the Amu Darya and Syr Darya basins, and access to related platforms, including CAWater-IS and CAWaterLex. CAWater-Info is developed and supported by the Scientific Information Center of the Interstate Commission for Water Coordination.
