CAWCR

The Collaboration for Australian Weather and Climate Research (CAWCR) is a research partnership between the Bureau of Meteorology (Bureau) and CSIRO. This collaboration is dedicated to extending research capabilities in Earth-system science through joint efforts. By combining their expertise, the Bureau and CSIRO aim to achieve impactful outcomes that benefit Australia in areas such as weather and ocean forecasting, seasonal prediction, and climate variability.

The CAWCR community consists of the Bureau of Meteorology’s Research and Development Program, along with programs in CSIRO’s Oceans and Atmosphere business unit. Research leaders from both agencies work together on high-impact projects that address national and global needs. Through collaboration, CAWCR enhances the partners' capabilities and impacts by sharing knowledge and expertise.
