The Cawthra Mulock Foundation is an Ontario-based charitable foundation established by Cawthra and Julyan Mulock and incorporated in 1964. Its original mandate was to fund religious, charitable, and educational purposes in Canada. The foundation initially envisioned supporting a Camphill Village for adults with developmental disabilities, while the Toronto Waldorf School became its first beneficiary. It has since supported Camphill Village and other Waldorf schools in Ontario.
Today, the foundation focuses its grants on registered Canadian charities operating in Ontario that are guided by Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy and address educational or curative needs. It gives highest priority to capital projects, including buildings, landscaping, furnishings, and equipment. Operational costs may also be considered, though they are supported less often. Organisations may apply each year. Applications are assessed at the foundation’s April annual meeting, with grants generally disbursed within a month. Applications must be submitted electronically by March 31 and include project details and costs, recent financial statements, and information about the organisation’s recent successes and challenges.
