The Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) is a permanent association of the Catholic Bishops in India, established in 1944. With the objective of facilitating coordinated study and discussion on matters affecting the Church, CBCI aims to adopt common policies and take effective action in all matters concerning the interests of the Church in India. CBCI offers a range of services and resources to support the Catholic Church in India.

These include publications, offices and centers, including those focused on doctrine, environment and climate change, clergy and religious dialogue, education and culture, health care, justice, peace, and development, social communications, media and information, laity, women, youth, and more. The CBCI is the face of the Catholic Church in India and is responsible for fostering unity among the three Episcopal Bodies representing the Latin, Syro-Malabar, and Syro-Malankara Churches. It works to promote advocacy on national issues, liaise with the government, influence policies for nation building and development, and collaborate with other Christian churches and organizations for peace, harmony, and the promotion of human rights and Gospel values.

With its dedicated office-bearers and General Body, CBCI ensures the progress of the Church in India and takes necessary actions based on the needs and plans discussed in its meetings. The Standing Committee oversees the implementation of decisions and resolutions. Overall, CBCI plays an essential role in uniting and supporting the Catholic Church in India, fostering cooperation, and promoting the values and mission of the Church in the country
