About CBH do Rio São Francisco
The Comitê da Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio São Francisco (CBHSF) is a collaborative body dedicated to the sustainable management of water resources in the São Francisco River basin. Comprising representatives from the government, civil society, and water-using enterprises, CBHSF focuses on protecting water sources and promoting sustainable development in the region.
The organization's mission extends to regulatory, deliberative, and consultative functions, ensuring a participative approach to water management. CBHSF oversees various technical chambers, including those focusing on institutional collaboration, groundwater, traditional communities, and project planning.
Additionally, CBHSF actively implements programs aimed at environmental protection, conservation, and recovery of microbasins. Its initiatives include promoting solar energy projects, enhancing irrigation practices, and establishing native plant nurseries to support biodiversity. Through multimedia platforms such as radio and TV São Francisco, CBHSF engages the community by sharing news, resources, and educational content, thereby fostering awareness and participation in sustainable practices throughout the watershed.
