About CCA
The Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) is an esteemed global research institution and museum that focuses on the idea that architecture is a matter of public interest. Unlike traditional museums, the CCA encourages visitors to think critically about architecture rather than simply observing it. Through exhibitions and publications, the CCA contributes to the understanding and exploration of architecture, while also sharing its extensive collection as a valuable resource.
Research and public programs are an essential part of the CCA's activities, allowing for the examination of how architecture shapes contemporary life and the potential for its future transformation. Located in Montréal, the CCA is not limited to its physical space, but actively engages with different contexts through projects, programs, and collaborations. With the aim of promoting architectural thinking, the CCA invites collaboration from both experts and the public.
Founded in 1979 by Phyllis Lambert, the CCA continues to evolve under the direction of Giovanna Borasi and the guidance of the CCA Board of Trustees.
