About Canadian Community Economic Development Network
The Canadian CED Network is a community-driven organization that connects members throughout Canada, including organizations, networks, and individuals. Their mission is to build local economies that strengthen communities and benefit everyone. They believe in using participatory, democratic, innovative, and entrepreneurial strategies to challenge the status quo and build alternatives.
The network focuses on Community Economic Development approaches that are place-based, democratic, and asset-based. They aim to strengthen local ownership and control, engage and build the capacity of community members, and protect and restore ecosystems and ecological health. CCEDNet serves as a convener, connector, facilitator, advocate, and partner.
They work to increase public demand and political action for supportive policies and programs and provide communities with the resources and relationships they need to build more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive locally-controlled economies.
