About CCGSI
Charlotte County Genealogical Society, Inc. (CCGSI) is a nonprofit organization serving people interested in family history, genealogy, and the history of Southwest Florida. Its mission is to assist and educate members and the wider community as they research genealogical and historical information.
The Society offers regular membership meetings featuring presentations on research topics, historical records, and lineage organizations, alongside classes and online programs about resources such as Ancestry and FamilySearch. Members can access resources including a surname list, genealogy holdings, website links, research tips, and other member materials. CCGSI also shares practical guidance on topics such as land records and historical documents.
The Society is developing opportunities for one-on-one genealogy help at the Mid-County Regional Library, intended for beginners and researchers facing challenging questions. Members are invited to volunteer with research assistance, website planning and content organization, and Society leadership. Through its educational programs, shared resources, and community activities, CCGSI supports people seeking to discover and preserve their family stories
