Welcome to the National Collaborating Centre for Indigenous Health (NCCIH), established in 2005 by the Government of Canada and funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC). Our mission is to improve public health and ensure health equity for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples through knowledge application and sharing.
Located at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) on the traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh in Prince George, BC, the NCCIH offers a wide range of publications and resources. Our Collection on Land, Communities, and Health highlights the crucial link between land and the health of Indigenous peoples. Additionally, our database of Indigenous health researchers showcases Canadian experts in the field.
We are committed to promoting culturally safe healthcare and addressing systemic inequalities to enhance the health and well-being of Indigenous communities. Join us in our journey towards health equity and optimal wellness for all Indigenous peoples.
