About Centre for Contemporary Photography
Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) is a brand dedicated to showcasing contemporary Australian photography and video, as well as connecting it with significant historical and international practice. Through exhibitions, education, and publishing, CCP expands the context for current Australian lens-based arts. They support artists at various stages of their career, providing educational experiences, exhibition opportunities, commissioned research projects, and a platform for experimentation and risk-taking.
Established in 1986, CCP has been instrumental in the development of lens-based arts and public engagement with photography. In 2005, they moved to purpose-designed premises by Sean Godsell Architects, featuring five gallery spaces, including the Night Projection Window visible from the street after dark. CCP's exhibition program showcases a diverse range of photo-based arts, representing emerging and established artists from both local and international backgrounds.
