Carneval Club Wackenheim 1949 e.V.

Carneval Club Wackernheim 1949 e.V. (CCW) is a volunteer-run carnival association based in Wackernheim, near Mainz, Germany. Founded in 1949, the club celebrates the traditions of Fastnacht while bringing them together with contemporary social themes, local character, and the distinctive spirit of Wackernheim. It is one of the few associations committed to staging carnival events without paid performers, an approach supported by its strong youth work, which helps discover and develop new talent for its shows.

The CCW’s main activities include carnival sessions and other seasonal events, with performances by adults and young members. Its program features local humor, themed productions, and community-focused entertainment. The club also organizes activities beyond the carnival season, including annual meetings and group hikes. Through its website, the CCW shares information about upcoming dates, past campaigns, its committee, and ways to become a member. It welcomes residents and visitors to attend its events and enjoy a lively celebration that honors longstanding Fastnacht customs while reflecting modern life and local traditions.
