About CDER
The Centre de Développement des Énergies Renouvelables (CDER) is an Algerian public research institution focused on renewable energy. Operating under Algeria’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, it conducts research and development and supports the advancement and practical application of renewable energy technologies. Its work spans solar thermal energy and geothermal energy, solar photovoltaics, wind energy, bioenergy and the environment, and renewable hydrogen. Research is organized through specialist divisions and units, with the Centre also managing projects and providing access to research equipment.
CDER shares its work through the Revue des Énergies Renouvelables, its renewable energy bulletin, scientific publications, and a virtual library. Its activities also include scientific training, events, and internships, alongside contributions, patents, and software. The Centre promotes national and international cooperation and communicates research news, events, consultations, and employment opportunities. Based in Bouzaréah, Algiers, CDER brings together research, knowledge sharing, and collaboration to support renewable energy development in Algeria.
