The Museu de les Arts Escèniques (MAE) serves as the foremost center for information and research on Catalan performing arts. Located in Barcelona, it combines a library, an archive, and a museum, making it a comprehensive hub for art enthusiasts and researchers alike. The MAE features an extensive collection, including rare audiovisual materials, posters, set designs, costumes, puppets, and programs that highlight the rich history of the performing arts.
The museum also hosts engaging exhibitions such as the current traveling exhibit "Del llapis a l’escenari," showcasing the creative process of artist Joan-Andreu Vallvé. In addition to exhibitions, the MAE offers services like research assistance, a summer loan program, and thematic guides to help visitors navigate its extensive resources. With regular updates on events and new acquisitions, the MAE is dedicated to preserving and promoting the vibrant landscape of performing arts in Catalonia, making it an essential destination for cultural exploration and academic inquiry.
