The Canadian Home Care Association (CHCA) is a national non-profit membership association that strives to strengthen integrated community-based care. Working in collaboration with their members, the CHCA promotes initiatives that address national priorities in home and community care. As a recognized authority in the field, the CHCA facilitates knowledge sharing, creates connections, informs policy and practices, and advocates for integrated home and community care for all Canadians.
The CHCA offers a range of resources and campaigns to support their mission. Their eiCOMPASS program brings together a network of home care providers and partners to develop emotionally intuitive palliative care in the home setting. The CHCA also advocates for caregivers through their program Carers Canada, recognizing their essential role in providing person-centered care.
Additionally, they conduct national awareness campaigns on creating great workplaces in home and community care. Furthermore, the CHCA operates the Palliative Care ECHO Hub, which engages home care providers and palliative care specialists to improve knowledge and skills in home-based palliative care. The association also offers the Partners in Restorative Care project, which helps home care providers enhance emotional intelligence skills to deliver exceptional patient- and family-centered care.
