About Canadian Down Syndrome Society
The Canadian Down Syndrome Society (CDSS) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the abilities and contributions of people with Down syndrome. Their mission is to be the trusted source of expertise, providing reliable information and connections to individuals with Down syndrome and those who support them. CDSS focuses on human rights, health, social participation, inclusive education, and employment for those with Down syndrome.
CDSS offers a wide range of resources and services to support self-advocates, parents, and families at every stage of life. They provide a comprehensive resource hub, including digital resources in both English and French, an e-newsletter to keep the community updated, and advocacy efforts with governments at all levels. In addition, CDSS publishes a quarterly magazine that covers advocacy, professional advice, news, and upcoming events.
They also organize fundraising campaigns to support impactful community resources and projects. By supporting CDSS, you are helping to ensure that all individuals with Down syndrome are valued and fully participating citizens.
