CEA Squadra Corse

CEA Squadra Corse is an Italian motorsport safety team with roots in CEA Estintori, founded by the Amadesi family in 1967. Known as the “Leoni,” its members have supported racing safety for decades, earning the nickname after their intervention during the 1978 Italian Grand Prix. Today, the team provides safety coverage at major Italian motorsport events, including circuit races and rallies, with more than 300 specialists and 50 dedicated vehicles.

Its work focuses on extinguishing fires and assisting drivers who are trapped in vehicles, in coordination with other emergency services at event locations. The team’s history includes longstanding collaborations with Imola, Monza, and Mugello, as well as contributions to the development of motorsport safety practices. CEA Estintori and Istituto Sicurezza e Qualità also organize workplace safety and fire-response training, combining classroom instruction with practical exercises in equipped facilities. Prospective team members undertake a lengthy, supervised training path, with roles matched to their skills and aptitudes.
