Centro Excursionista Brasileiro

Centro Excursionista Brasileiro (CEB) is the largest and oldest mountaineering club in Brazil, founded in 1919. With a rich history closely intertwined with Brazilian mountaineering, CEB has become a renowned organization in the field. Since its early years, CEB has been organizing numerous excursions, attracting a growing community of enthusiasts.

Notable among their achievements is the ascent of 'Dedo de Deus' (God's Finger), a symbolic mountain that continues to represent CEB. Over the years, they have conquered peaks in Rio de Janeiro, Petrópolis, Teresópolis, Nova Friburgo, Itatiaia, and other regions of Brazil. Today, CEB boasts around 300 club members, including 40 experienced guides, who continue to conquer new summits and open up new climbing routes.

They offer a diverse program of trekking and mountaineering expeditions, catering to various preferences and fitness levels. Non-members can also join these outings by paying a small fee. CEB provides a secretary service on weekdays, and their common-room serves as a gathering place for weekly meetings, parties, and cultural presentations.
