Cecilya Mestres is an award-winning singer, songwriter and producer from Vilafranca del Penedès, near Barcelona, now based in Paris. Her music brings together retro rhythm and blues, rock and roll and other American roots styles, pairing the sounds of the 1950s with a contemporary voice and perspective. She performs as a solo artist and leads Cecilya & the Candy Kings, a band known for its energetic live shows.
The artist offers original music through three albums, each exploring a different side of her songwriting. Back in 1955 draws on classic rhythm and blues, while Parisian Mambo blends blues, rock and roll, boogie-woogie and Latin rhythms in a tribute to Paris. Her independent debut, Cherry Blossom, takes a more intimate path through Americana, folk and country-pop. Across these releases, her lyrics range from personal stories to themes of freedom, immigration and social reflection.
Cecilya’s music has reached audiences at festivals and venues across Europe, the United States and Latin America.
