Cedaps

CEDAPS is an organization dedicated to promoting health and improving public policies that impact underserved communities. Their mission is to ensure the full participation of these communities in the development process, contributing to health promotion, rights, and equity. One of their main focuses is on prevention and care, specifically related to STDs/HIV and Tuberculosis.

Through educational workshops, CEDAPS strengthens the capacities of residents and social activists, empowering them to become information multipliers. They also provide technical assistance to the Healthy Communities Network (RCS) and grassroots organizations, supporting community leaders in their health promotion actions and healthy public policy initiatives. CEDAPS also works with youth, creating opportunities for economic and social development.

They aim to overcome the challenges faced by young people and empower them to take an active role in their own lives and communities. Their Programa Jovens Construtores (PJC) has already engaged over 500 young people in Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Pará, and Minas Gerais. Additionally, CEDAPS focuses on strengthening public healthcare services, particularly in primary healthcare.

They utilize the social technology of Co-creation of Local Solutions to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals and develop actions for community development and health promotion. As a technical partner, CEDAPS has been involved in the implementation of the Ciclo Saúde Program since 2014, in partnership with Fundação Vale e Vale and the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Saúde da Família da Universidade Estácio de Sá. CEDAPS actively shares news and updates about their activities and projects through their electronic newsletter.
