Cedar House Birth Collective

Cedar House Birth Collective is a collaborative maternity practice in Courtenay, British Columbia, formerly known as Cedar House Midwives. Its team of registered midwives and family doctors provides professional, personal, family-centred care for pregnant people and their babies in the Comox Valley. Care begins in early pregnancy and continues through labour and birth, then postpartum until about six weeks after the baby arrives. The practice emphasizes culturally safe clinical care and nurturing support, and acknowledges that it operates on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation.

Services include pregnancy, birth and postpartum care, with appointments available at the collective’s centrally located clinic in Tin Town. Families can self-refer without a doctor’s referral, and care is covered by the BC Medical Services Plan for eligible patients with a BC Care Card. The clinic also offers resources such as a lending library and a free selection of pre-loved maternity and baby clothes. New clients can contact the team by phone or submit an intake form to begin care.
