CEDIC is a non-profit organization that promotes scientific research and knowledge management in the field of biological sciences, health, and the environment. Established legally since 2008, it is governed by a Board of Directors and run by an Executive and Technical Directorate elected in Assembly. The main objectives of CEDIC are to support the development of the scientific career, train human resources, and promote basic and applied research, experimental development, and technological innovation.

To achieve these objectives, CEDIC provides independent researchers with important infrastructure and laboratory platforms to carry out scientific and/or technological activities in existing or new lines of research, development, and innovation of interest to the Center. With a vision to be recognized nationally and internationally for its leadership in producing evidence that contributes to scientific and technological research in the health and environment field, CEDIC strives to generate scientific evidence that contributes to knowledge about diseases originating from the health and environment relationship, strengthening management and connections that promote innovation and the generation of biomedical technologies for improved quality of life and the environment. With research areas ranging from taxonomy and ecology to biotechnology and genomics, CEDIC is dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge and improving public health and environmental outcomes
