About CEFRES
CEFRES is the Centre français de recherche en sciences sociales located in Prague. Founded in 1991, its main objective is to foster scientific exchanges between France and Central Europe, particularly in the wake of the fall of communism. As a research center, CEFRES facilitates networking among research teams in France, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.
It operates as an Unité d’appui à la recherche (UAR 3138) under the joint supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, and the National Center for Scientific Research. In collaboration with the French Embassy in the Czech Republic, Charles University in Prague, and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, CEFRES is part of a Franco-Czech cooperation platform called Plateforme CEFRES. CEFRES conducts research in various fields and supports mobility and exchange programs for researchers in France and the Visegrad countries
